Someone suggested downloading a trial version and putting in the product key there, which I did but only after did I realize that it was a slightly different package (Microsoft Office 2007 student edition) so the key wouldn't work. I can't find anywhere that I can re-download it. I've already read threads: one, two and three and none of them seem related to the problem that I'm having. However apparently you can only re-download within 30 days. Note: I'm still able to launch Powerpoint and the other applications just fine, so it doesn't appear to be a bad install. I tried to perform a Windows search for "powerpnt" and "pptview", which STIG said were related to the setting I was supposed to change and both searches returned 0 results.
